The media, especially YouTube and TikTok, likes to exaggerate things to grab attention.
Lately, the hottest topic has been AI.
Every few days, I see a YouTube video, TikTok, or a Twitter thread showing how this new AI model “destroys everything!”
This has been going on since 2023. Every time OpenAI, Google, or any other AI company releases an update, these content-farming YouTubers and TikTokers will jump at the opportunity to scare their followers.
They would create videos and shorts exaggerating the capabilities of the AI models, just to get a few thousand more views.
You can easily spot these overhyped videos from the titles. They usually contain “DESTROY” in all caps! Or “end of X industry”, “kills X profession”, “crush everything”, and exaggerated terms like that.
If you visit these channels and view their other videos, you’ll notice that every single one of their videos have exact same titles.
They’ve been saying AI is replacing humans, our skills, and jobs for years, yet here we are!
Just ignore these idiots, just like you should ignore every other form of NEWS.
Sure, AI tools are impressive. I’m not denying their usefulness. But these idiot influencers and content creators are only fearmongering for their gain.
I tried all the latest AI tools, including the new ChatGPT 4.0 image generation tools. And it’s not as great as those scripted videos make it out to be.
Even with the most detailed prompts, the AI ends up generating graphics that are entirely different than what we imagine.
They can be useful for personal use. But when it comes to professional designs, they are merely child’s play.
These AI tools have a long way to go before they can be considered great. Even then, the AI will only be used as a tool to help speed up our work, not a way to replace us!
See you next time,
