Today it just hit me. There are only two months left in 2024!
This made me look back at the past few months and then I realized how comfortable I’ve been all throughout this year.
Even though I went through some critical events this year (especially dealing with AI taking over my job and Google destroying my websites) I noticed that I haven’t made any significant changes to improve myself and my career.
I have been idle for too long and it’s starting to affect my life and career. And it reminded me of the famous quote by Lord Buddha:
“To be idle is a short road to death and to be diligent is a way of life; foolish people are idle, wise people are diligent.”
Living in the comfort zone is a luxury but it can also lead to mediocrity. So, I’m going to make some changes and I’m not going to wait until next year to make a “New Year’s Resolutions” list to get started.
Starting today, I’m stepping out of my comfort zone.
The first thing I’m going to do is reactivate my Skillshare account and start learning a new skill. I’m hoping to enhance my Affinity Photo skills.
I will also do my best to bring back my websites from the dead.
Then I’m going to find an additional client and increase my workload.
Above all, I’m promising myself to work longer hours and work harder than before!
I know what you’re thinking—Why the hell am I writing all this here? Well, there are a couple of reasons.
First, I wanted to make this public so I feel the need to live up to the promises I’ve made.
Second, I want you to take inspiration from this to look back at the year you’ve had. See if you’ve improved yourself or if you need to make some changes.
Don’t wait until New Year’s to improve yourself. Get started today!
And don’t forget to make a public statement about the changes you’re going to make. Share a post on social media and pin that post for everyone to see. Then get to work!
See you next time!
