I try my best to start my day by reading something.
Most days, I read a page from Ryan Holiday’s Daily Stoic (one of my favorite books ever) or I check some of my favorite blogs to read a thought-provoking article.
This always gets me fired up to get more work done.
In the evening, I try to read a few pages from a book I’m trying to finish. And I try to do the same at night before bed.
That may come out as a brag but it’s not the intention. I also need to emphasize the “try” part because some days I don’t get a chance to read anything except for things related to work. Life gets in the way.
However, this habit of reading has been a part of my life since my childhood. I didn’t care if a book was good or bad, I read anything I could get my hands on.
Looking back, I realized how this small habit has changed my personality, my work, my life, and my career. It still plays a significant role in everything I do and every decision I make.
Even though you may not realize it, what you read helps shape your vision and outlook on life as well as your understanding of everything around you. That makes it much easier to confidently make decisions on your path to success.
So I encourage you to read something every day.
Tomorrow, when you’re drinking your morning/evening cup of coffee or tea, go to a blog like Futurism, Ars Technica, or WIRED and read an article, instead of scrolling TikTok or Instagram. Heck, you could do this even while on the toilet.
Trust me, you’ll thank me later!
See you next time!
