Hello there,
It’s Roshan from FreelancingHacks.com
It’s been a while since I sent a newsletter. I’ve had trouble with the emailing tool I was using and also had some personal stuff to deal with. So I took a long break.
Now I feel refreshed and energized to be back at it again.
This got me thinking about how important it is to take breaks.
During my first year of freelancing, I worked 7 days a week. There were days where I worked for over 18 hours and I even worked on Christmas.
That grind in the beginning is important to find success as a freelancer. You need to work hard to achieve difficult things.
But I got burned out as I continued to follow that same routine.
That’s when I decided to take breaks.
Now, I usually take Sundays off. I work on side projects on Saturdays.
Even on weekdays, I take breaks in between work sessions to recharge my mental capacity and energy.
This was very difficult for me to get used to as I tend to work for hours at a time when I’m focused on something.
But if you want to work long hours, you also need to take lots of breaks in between. Otherwise, you will feel miserable at the end of the day.
So, this is your reminder to take a break, today! Right now!
See you again soon,
-Roshan
