Why Is It So Difficult To Find A Job Right Now?
Microsoft bought a $70 billion company right before laying off 10,000 employees.
If you do a quick search on YouTube, you’ll come across hundreds and thousands of videos of people sharing their stories of getting laid off from their jobs.
Chances are you might have even come across these videos of “I got fired from my job” videos on your YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, or even Facebook feeds.
The scary part is that most of these videos were made very recently, especially over the past few months. It’s almost like everyone’s getting laid off from their jobs.
Companies are blaming it all on pandemics, bad economy, inflation, AI, or whatever they can come up with while making 70-billion-dollar acquisitions.
By the way, that’s Microsoft. They bought a video game company for $70 billion right before laying off more than 10,000 employees.
Getting fired from a job is one thing but most people are now also struggling to find new jobs. I recently came across a video of a person claiming that they applied to more than 100 jobs and have yet to be successful in landing any of those positions. And they are not alone.
It’s a really scary situation out there and it has been keeping me up for more than a few nights.
I’m thankful for having a job right now. As a freelancer, I get to work from the comfort of my home. Even though it’s not as glamorous as most of those “day in the life” videos make it out to be, I’m truly grateful to have a gig that pays well.
If you’ve been fired from your job recently, just know that it’s not the end of the world. Take some time to recover and get back out there. And make it an opportunity to pursue something new. Take control of your career.
Maybe even consider getting into freelancing. As a freelancer, you are not limited to your local job market, you can access job opportunities from companies around the world.
It’s more competitive, a bit more difficult than a regular office job, and has a bit of a learning curve. However, it also gives you freedom and control of your work-life balance.
Just keep moving forward!
See you next week!
